Why the Factory Radiator Is a Ticking Time Bomb

Our premium military grade all aluminum TIG welded radiator is built to last a lifetime. We replaced the failure prone crimped on plastic end tanks of the factory unit with 100% TIG welded aluminum tanks. This master class construction provides a robust leak proof seal that can withstand the intense pressures and temperatures of the F355’s high performance engine. The entire radiator is made of high quality aluminum and dual core straps are added to increase overall strength and durability ensuring it can hold up to the demands of hard driving.

This Ferrari F355 radiator upgrade also provides a measurable increase in cooling-core capacity compared with the original OEM radiator. Our upgraded radiator uses 39 cooling tubes, while the OEM radiator uses 37 cooling tubes. It also includes 40 cooling fin rows, compared with 38 cooling fin rows on the OEM unit. These additional cooling tubes and fin rows increase the available heat transfer surface area while maintaining a direct fit radiator configuration.

Furthermore, our upgraded design combines these increased tube and fin counts with a 1-row, 31 mm all-aluminum core, 6.5 mm multi-louvered fins, and exclusive B-Tube Technology. B-Tube Technology was specifically designed to dramatically improve heat transfer compared with regular oval welded tubes. The fin design promotes airflow through the core, while the additional two cooling tubes and two fin rows provide greater cooling capacity than the OEM radiator.

The difference is clearly seen in the construction. As mentioned previously, the original F355 radiator uses an aluminum core crimped onto plastic end tanks. Our upgraded radiator replaces the plastic tank and crimped gasket design with 100% TIG welded all-aluminum construction. This design provides a more durable cooling solution for older Ferrari vehicles, restoration projects, spirited street driving, and racetrack use.

The additional tube and fin capacity works together with dual core straps, beveled hose connections, and a satin-black finish to create a stronger, more efficient, OEM style replacement. The radiator remains a true plug-and-play, drop-in fit, so no vehicle modifications are required. Cross contamination from steel or other metals can compromise the structural integrity of an aluminum weld and we will not allow that risk in our manufacturing process. Our welders are computer controlled robots who produce millimeter accurate welds that are as visually impressive as they are structurally sound.
